The Circus ZappZarap – A pioneering concept for secondary schools
Circus projects are not “kids’ stuff”, but offer older pupils in particular the chance to find their own ways of expressing themselves, to overcome fears of contact and to strengthen social interaction. By working together in small groups, new friendships are formed, cliques are broken up and respectful interaction is fostered.
Our extensive and age-appropriate range of workshops also inspires the upper school students and creates space for their own creative ideas. Lighting technology, music and setting up and dismantling a circus tent inspire the young people. In addition to circus training, there is the opportunity to involve older pupils as trainers, also as part of a social internship.
With the help of our pedagogical training, pupils become coaches and take responsibility for younger children. Perseverance, discipline, personal commitment and the presentation of one’s own strengths as preparation for professional life are encouraged through active participation in the circus project. All experiences and learning steps in the circus project are suitable for everyday life!
